The bloggers have inspired me!

I have no clue what will become of this blog but anticipate using it to organize my:

1. cute internet finds
2. jumbled thoughts
3. wants/needs

Do you nap a lot? Unfortunately naps are rare and few in my world. They come scattered between endless child wrangling and excessive thrift store shopping. Fifteen minutes of down time out of my day would probably do me really well, though.

Why was today special? Today was special because I put myself in a new social situation, with new and unfamiliar faces, and even if I wasn't able to be the most social and outgoing of people, I thoroughly enjoyed playing charades and rock band with a group of inebriated 27+ year olds.

What would you like to learn to do? Communicate in sign language - when my dad was still living at home with us he would try to teach me phrases but I totally took it for granted and blew him off most of the time with half smiles and ignorant nods. I am learning how to become a better person to those closest to me, as well.

What's for dinner today? Beer! I had a delicious plate of salmon and rosemary mashed potatoes for lunch today, accompanied by a glass of sparking French berry lemonade, though. My eating habits could also be better, ha.

What's the last thing you bought? Kettle corn and smoothies from Trader Joe's, for myself and my friends, to snack on at the beach yesterday afternoon.

What are you listening to right now? Paco De Lucia's classical guitar masterpiece "Entre Dos Aguas." This song also reminds me of Atticus McKittrick, single-handedly the most interesting person I have ever met. This is a person who holds such great amounts of intrigue with me, so much that I see nothing negative within him, even if everyone else has an opinion.

What is your favorite weather? Cool and breezy. Warm enough to wear shorts, chilly enough to pair it with layers and boots.

What is on your bedside table? My dresser could be substituted for this, in which case it is scattered with: a lamp, 5 burning candles, incense, my earrings on their branched holder, my rings on a colorful Mayan inspired plate, frames carrying photos of Briana Knowles and Brian Field, a good friend and an ex boyfriend respectively, and my cash kitty.

What's your style? Cute, comfortable, convenient.

What is your most challenging goal right now? Working as hard as I can to make decisions that won't disappoint my mother, or myself any more. These questions are making me realize how much "self-improvement" is in call for.

If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be? Montreal, Canada.

Favorite vacation spot? My family never really vacationed after I was six years old. We'd make weekend trips to Santa Barbara (my new home) and San Diego here and there, but my parents made sure my brother and I experienced everything within Southern California, so we were not entirely deprived.

Favorite meal of the day? Lunch - it is so versatile, quick, and light.

Name a memory from childhood that sticks out in your mind: The first that came to mind was being eight or nine and going to a family friend's house - there my friend Allyson and I were convinced into a kissing contest by her distant cousin, whom we both happened to be momentarily in love with, and how convenient that he was the judge of who was the better kisser. This took place on a trampoline and I remember there being a lot of stuffed animals around us. It was the first time I can remember being pressured into doing something that I really didn't want to engage in, though I can't decide whether it's a negative or positive memory.

What person would you like to have in your hands right now? Zachary Tipton - always.

What would you like to get rid of? The 20 lbs keeping me from being a size 4.

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go? Glasgow, Scotland.

Which language do you want to learn? American sign language and Portugese are at the top of my list. My career choice will require me to learn many more than two, though.

Which countries have you visited? France is the only country I've been to. Though, if someone comes with me, I will be going to Peru this winter for roughly a month (this is an open invitation to anyone who can afford to pay their own way, though plane tickets are the only thing we would have to worry about).
